Michigan Tech Huskies Drop High-Scoring Game

Despite a strong second half, the Michigan Tech Huskies men's basketball team fell to Upper Iowa 93-87 in a high-scoring game on Saturday.

The Huskies opened the game with momentum as Nate Abel and Dawson Nordgaard combined to score 15 of the team's first 38 points. Tech held the lead until the 11:47 mark of the first half, but Upper Iowa took control from there and led by as many as 12 points in the second half.

The Huskies tied the game at 80 on a Pete Calcaterra 3-pointer with 3:20 to play, but Upper Iowa's Hillmer scored 10 of his 37 points in the final three minutes to seal the win.

Michigan Tech got 21 points from Marcus Tomashek, 17 from Abel and 12 from Nordgaard. Tyler Robarge pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.

The Huskies shot 44.9 percent from the field and hit nine 3-pointers, while Upper Iowa shot 51.6 percent.

Michigan Tech will return home to host Missouri St. Louis University this Saturday at 1 p.m.
