Cam Thomas' 36-point performance raises concerns about NBA first-round picks

Despite losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers by just one point, Brooklyn Nets fans are still calling for Kam Thomas to make his NBA debut after an explosive 36-point performance in the team's first game of the season.

Thomas' performance drew comparisons to Ben Simmons, who shot poorly and finished with just four points. Some fans even thought Thomas could be a candidate for Sixth Man of the Year.

Thomas' performance was even more impressive considering he only played 25 minutes off the bench. He previously said in an interview that he believes he can average 25 points per game in the NBA.

Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn will have some interesting decisions to make regarding the rotation after Thomas' performance. Thomas is currently listed as the No. 1 backup point guard behind Spencer Dinwiddie.

Other Bucks players who had strong performances in the new season opener included Mikal Bridges (20 points, six rebounds, four assists, three steals) and Cam Johnson (12 points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals).
